1015202530The sock is threaded on the device and then the device is threaded alongthe sock on the foot. The sock is pulled into place by the personpulls the handles. In this way, the sock is pulled on at the same time asthe order is pulled up along the leg. Thereafter, the device is removed.ningen. Such a device is suitable for ordinary socks such ashas a normal elasticity. However, it is not useful forsupport stockings which are difficult to extend for persons who areweak.
CA 2093939 discloses a device for facilitating the entry ofregular socks as well as support socks. The device containssmiles two elongated side rails that have slightly concave surfaces, as wella center rail placed in a plane below the side rails. The rails aredesigned to enclose the leg of the person to put onthe socks. The side rails are mounted so that they are pivotablerelative to the center rail between a first position, in which onethe long side of each rail is close together so thatthe side rails and the center rail together form a unit on thethe sock can be put on, and a second position in which thethe mandrels of the rails have moved laterally outwards in the direction ofeach other and thus achieve a stretching of the appliedtake the sock. A pair of handles are connected to the side rails andby manipulating these, the lateral pivot tube is produced.the side rails. Thanks to the length of the handlesa leverage effect that enables hand-weak per-sons to stretch out the sock. When the sock is outstretched it isonly for the person to insert the foot between the side rails andthe middle rail and pull the handles so the sock on the foot is brought up.
A disadvantage of this device is that it contains manymoving parts and is complicated to manufacture. Also putsthe length of the handles a limit for the exchange of force. The-The device is not suitable for socks where there is a lot of elasticsluggish or too weak hands.101520253035OBJECTS AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe object of the present invention is to provide an improvementrow device for facilitating the tightening of socks, which issimple and robust and contains few moving parts, and is easy tomanufacture.
This object is achieved with the initially specified device.characterized in that the elements are arranged so thatthe underside of the upper element faces the upper side of itthe lower element in both the first and the second position, andthat said adjusting means is arranged to move one elementelement in relation to the second element in a mainlytransverse direction.
By transverse direction is meant a direction perpendicular to the elementlongitudinal axis. The adjusting means thus performs a linear movement ofthe upper and lower elements relative to each other, instead of onepivoting movement as in the prior art. This provides a simpleand robust device with few parts that are easy to manufacture.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the adjusting means comprisesa rod on which the lower element is fixedly mounted, anda component mounted movably along the rod on which the componentthe upper element is fixedly mounted, the component havinga locking mechanism which in a locked position locks the component in a certainposition along the bar and which in an exposed position makes it possibleto move the component along the bar. This implementationring shape allows the user to freely choose the distancebetween the elements. It is advantageous to be able to choose the distancebetween the elements in depending on the size of the user's footand bones.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the component comprisesa relatively movable handle, and the component isarranged so that a user can step by step with the handlemove the component and thus the upper element in the direction away101520253035from the lower element, in the same way as a one-handed clampwith spreading possibility. The user can pump by means of the handlemove the upper element in the direction away from the lower elementtet. By moving the handle up and down, the user transfers oneforce that is converted into a linear motion of components relativelythe bar. The component contains a mechanism that works onin the same way as the mechanism in a one-handed clamp with spreadabilityhot. If the sock is first pulled over the elements, the user canby moving the handle up and down gradually stretch out the sock.
This is an advantage for a user who is weak in the hands ef-because the force does not need to be applied continuously but is movedone step at a time and the user can rest between steps. Làsme-the canism loads the component into the current position between eachstep.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the device is designedto be placed on a surface, such as a floor or ground, then the foot is inserted between the elements. The device is set down onthe surface after the sock has been put on and stretched.
It is not necessary for the user to hold the device withthen the foot is inserted between the elements. This is an advantage for a per-son who has difficulty bending down.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the underside thereofthe lower element provided with support means arranged to support againstthe substrate and to bring about a slope of the lower element.to further facilitate the entry of the footbetween the elements. According to a further embodiment, the supportdesigned to support the ground at the same time as a front partof the lower element rests against the ground.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the support member is designedso that it prevents the sock from being pulled up too far on the element.
This is accomplished by the support member extending fromthe underside of the lower element and is arranged at a distancefrom the end of the lower element on which the sock is threaded. One-According to one embodiment of the invention, the upper side is the upper one101520253035the element is provided with a stop means for cooperating withthe support means prevent the sock from being pulled up too far on theten. If the sock is pulled up too far on the elements, it can be difficultinsert of the foot between the elements.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the upper isthe element permanently mounted to the component via the stop means andthe lower element is fixedly mounted to the rod via the support member.
Because both the stop means and the support means have several functionsthe number of components is minimized and thus the costand time required to manufacture the device.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the first handle isconnected to the upper element by means of a first elongate flexionibelt element and the other handle is connected to the lower onethe element by means of a second elongate flexible element. Withflexible means that the elements are bendable. Thanks to the elementsare flexible, they are not in the way when the sock is to be pulled onningen. The flexible design makes it easier for the user whenthe device is pulled up along the leg. Another advantage ofthe flexible elements are that they can be rolled up when the devicenot used.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the upper elementa length that is substantially shorter than the length of the lower onethe element. This facilitates the insertion of the foot between the elements.ten.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERREDEMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTIONFigures 1 - 3 show a device for facilitating tighteningof socks or similar garments according to an embodiment ofthe invention. The device comprises a lower elongate element.ment 1 which has an upper side la adapted to abut against onefotsula. The lower element 1 is slightly curved about its longitudinal axisin such a way that the upper side of the lower element is concave andthe underside is convex. The device further comprises an upperelongate element 2 having an underside 2a adapted toabut against the top of a foot. The upper element 2 is slightlybent around its longitudinal axis in such a way that the upper side of the upperthe element is convex and the underside is concave. In the embodiment shownThe shape 1,2 is slightly tapered in the longitudinal direction.ningen. In another embodiment it is also possible to useelements that have the same width along their entire length or onotherwise varying width. Figure 1 shows the device in afirst position in which the elements are close together toobserve the threading of the sock on the elements and Figure 2 showsthe device in a second position where the elements have such astand to each other that a worn sock is extended and one footallowed to be inserted between the elements. Figure 3 Indicates the device inthe first position seen from behind.
The upper and lower elements 1,2 are arranged oppositeeach other in such a way that the underside 2a of the upper element101520253035facing the upper side 1a of the lower element in both positionsnerna. The elements 1,2 are arranged so that they form togethera device designed to allow the wearing of a sockthe elements. The upper and lower elements are arranged slightlyangled relative to each other so that together they form onetapered cone. Between the elements a cone-shaped space is formed.me with an opening for entry of a foot. In this embodimentshape, the upper element 2 is shorter than the lower element 1.
The elements are arranged so that the upper element 2 extendsfrom one end of the lower element, i.e. the end therethe sock is put on, and over just over half of the lower element.
In this way, the lower element 1 will protrude outside itthe upper element and this projecting part constitute a support forthe other side of the foot when the foot is pushed in between the elements.
The device further comprises a first handle 4 connected to itupper element 2 and a second handle 5 connected to the lowerelement 1. The handles 4,5 can either be directly connected tothe elements or indirectly via someone permanently connected to the elementhot. The handles 4.5 are connected to the elements 1,2 via twoelongated flexible elements 6,7. Flexible means that elementsare flexible. Examples of suitable flexible elements 6,7 areties, ribbons of any kind of plastic material, rope or wire.
The handles are used when tightening the sock on the foot where thethe turner with each hand grabs the respective handle and pullsthe device upwards from the foot and up along the leg.
The device further comprises an adjusting means for adjustingthe distance between the elements. In the embodiment shown, themeans of moving the upper element 2 in relation to theto the lower element 1. In an alternative embodiment, the adjusting means be designed to move the lower elementrelative to the upper element, or to move boththe elements relative to each other. The figures show an example of oneadvantageous design of the adjusting means 10, but it is alsopossible to use other types of adjusting means. Adjustmentthe means 10 comprises a rod 12 arranged in the direction of movement. On101520253035the rod 12, the lower element 1 is fixedly mounted. Adjustmentthe means further comprises a movable component 14 which is arrangedmovable along the rod, and on which the upper element 2 ispermanently mounted. This means that when the moving component 14moves along the bar, the upper element 2 movescorresponding distance.
Component 14 includes a locking mechanism as in a locked positionlocks the component in a certain position along the bar andwhich in an exposed position makes it possible to move the componentalong the bar. The locking mechanism comprises an actuator16, which when activated, for example when pressed, for the locking mechanism in the exposed position and when deactivated, for example, when released, the locking mechanism transfers into the lockedthe situation. When the actuator 16 is pressed downwards, the componentin the exposed position, and as long as the actuator 16 is held in placepressed, it is possible to move the component along the rodin any direction. When the actuator 16 is released, the component is locked.14 in the existing position relative to the rod 12. Thisfunction makes it possible to easily adjust the distancebetween the upper and lower elements when no sock is ondrawn on the elements, and thus no larger one is neededforce to move the elements.
Component 14 further includes a step-by-step mechanismmove the component relative to the rod. The mechanism is designedso that it converts a smaller force applied by the userto a greater force to perform the movement. This will make it possiblefor a user who is weak in the hands to be able to stretchout a sock with a hard elastic. This mechanism works onthe same way as a one-handed clamp with spreading capability. There isa number of such one-handed clamps on the market. How a one-handedforce works is known technology. The mechanism of stepwise movementcomprises a fixed part 18 projecting from the component and ahandle 19 arranged movably relative to the fixed part 18. Mechanicalbut further includes means for converting the force appliedon the handle 19 when the handle is pressed down against the fixed10152025303518 to a movement of the component 14 in the direction away fromthe lower element 1. By repeatedly carrying out thetaken 19 in the direction of the fixed part 18, the component is moved14 and thus the upper element 2 in the direction away from the lowerelement 1 and thus the opening between the elements is widened. Ifa sock has been threaded over the elements, it will widen. An-the inverter can thus stretch out by pumping with the handlethe sock that has been put on the device.
The device is designed to be placed on a surface, such asa floor or on the ground, while the foot is threaded between the elements1.2. For this purpose, the device in this embodiment isseen with a support member 20 arranged to rest against the ground whenthe device is located on the ground. In this embodiment, the supportdorgant 20 also designed to provide a slope of the lowerelement 1 in order to facilitate the entry of the foot betweenlan elements. In this embodiment, the support member is designed forto support against the ground at the same time as a front part of the lowerelement 1 rests against the ground. The support member is permanently mounted tothe underside of the lower element 1 at a distance from itend of the lower element on which the sock is threaded which is largerthan half the length of the lower element. The support member 20 isalso fixed to the bar 12. To further increase the stabilitythe support means extends further past the bar.The upper side of the upper element 2 is provided with a stop means22 to prevent the sock in cooperation with the support member 20threaded up too far on the elements 1,2. The stop member 22 extendsoutwards in the direction away from the top of the upper element. Stop-the member 22 is fixedly mounted to the movable component 14. Itthe first handle 4 is connected to the upper element 2 via the stopbody 22.
Figures 4-6 show how the device can be used in the event ofthose of a sock on a foot. In a first step, the distances are adjustedbetween the elements 1,2 to the first position in which the elementsare close together, as shown in Figure 1. To reduce the distance10152025303510between the elements, the locking mechanism is placed in the exposed positionby depressing the actuator 16 and holding it together.early as the component 14 is moved in the direction of the lower element.1. When the elements have the desired distance from each other, thethe upper member up and the component 14 is locked relative to the rod 12 inits current state. Then thread the sock over the elements.
The sock is advanced to the stop member 22 and the support member 20.
When the sock has been stepped on the elements, the distance between is adjustedthe elements to the second position as shown in Figure 2, bythat the user performs a pumping movement with the handle 19.
While the user is pumping with the handle, the sock is stretched out. Whenthe sock has been sufficiently stretched and the distance between thethe element is so large that the foot can be inserted in between with a good marginelements, the device is placed with the sock down on the ground soas shown in Figure 4. The support member 20 will then be in contactwith the substrate. Then the foot is inserted between the elements such asshown in Figure 5. When the foot rests between the elements, the user takeshandle the handles 4,5 which are connected to the upper and the lowerelement 6,7 and pulls the device towards it upwards along thenet. While the device is moved past the foot and upwards along the legthe sock will fall into place. When the sock is in placethe device is removed from the leg through the opening providedbetween the elements. If the opening would not be large enoughit is possible to remove the movable component '14 from the rod 12by depressing the actuator 16 and thereby loosening the lockingmechanism and then slide the moving component 14 to closewith the rod in the direction away from the lower element 1.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment shown.embodiment of the invention but can be varied and modifiedwithin the scope of the following claims. For example, the arrangement of the upper and lower elements is varied. Also out-The shape of the support member can be varied in many ways with thereaching the same function. It is also possible to design itlower element in such a way that no support means is needed. Other types ofper of known adjusting means can be used.
